BACKYARD BBQ PARTIES! TAILGATING PARTIES!

BBQ CATERING & OUTDOOR EVENTS!

The number one concern when throwing a party or event outside is weather! You should pre-schedule a rain date and get it booked and approved by all your suppliers, venues and vendors. Now, if you are rained out you have a follow-up plan and date in place that everyone involved is already aware of and onboard with. The second concern is to always have shelter available for sudden stormy out bursts by unpredictable, uncaring mother nature. During the very hot season, make sure you have plenty of shady areas within easy access and plenty of beverages especially bottled water always on hand so no one gets dehydrated!

THROWING A PHILADELPHIA PARTY OUTSIDE HAS ITS CHALLENGES!

Spring and Summer times are here in Philadelphia and for the next few months, (May – September) Millions of individuals and families will rely on their backyards for recreation and fun. Backyards are nice to gaze at and enjoy throughout the year, but they become extra special during spring and summertime when the weather is nice. To make the most out of your upcoming backyard adventures, you are encouraged to pre-think about what foods, beverages and entertainment supplies, you will stock up on and keep on hand for the spontaneous type of entertaining you enjoy hosting.

BBQ RIBS! GRILLED CHICKEN! CORN ON THE COB! WATERMELLON! FRESH FRUIT SALADS! SHRIMP, CHICKEN AND VEGGIE KABOBS! TRADITIONAL HAMBURGERS, CHEESE BURGERS, AND HOTDOGS!...everyone male, female, young and old loves an outside BBQ!

Philadelphians enjoy their summer vacation days and holidays! Weekend block parties are very popular in the City of Brotherly Love. Block parties and celebrating in one of the many public or private parks are the outdoors parties of choice for Philadelphians whose schedules will not allow them to head to the Jersey Shore. If you are planning a party in a public park or organizing a block party on your street, it is advisable to apply for permits early.

There are many Philadelphia parks that can be used for family gatherings, BBQs as well as company picnics and events but before you rush to print up your invitations, it is wise to find out all the rules and regulations especially if alcohol will be involved.

When hosting an outside event it is always a nice touch to include some of the areas locally grown vegetables and fruits on your menu. In the Philadelphia PA area; Apples, Blueberries, Blackberries, Asparagus, Cabbage, Jersey Tomatoes, Corn and all kinds of wild and farm grown mushrooms become ripe, are delicious, popular and in-season during the outdoor party months. The supply is plentiful so you can buy them cheap and serve them fresh!

BBQ IS THE PHILADELPHIA ULTIMATE OUTDOOR PARTY THEME!
When most individuals think of backyards, food and parties, a backyard barbeque menu quickly comes into mind. Summer time Backyard BBQ Parties are a perfect choice for Family reunions. BBQ and outdoor sports activities lend themselves well for bringing families together who have not seen each other in a while. Everyone can dress comfortably and casually. Yard games can be set up. BBQs are great for catching up on what has been happening with old friends as well as for bonding with new neighbors. Best of all, every age group loves BBQ food and backyard activities!

Graduation Parties are also popular in the summer in Philadelphia. Graduation bashes are nice to host outdoors. The graduates can get as wild as they need without tearing up the house or a dainty banquet hall.

Perhaps, the greatest benefit of having a Backyard Party or BBQ is that you will not have to travel far which is convenient, especially when you have young children in your care. Bathrooms are convenient and more party supplies are right inside your house. Paper and plastic serving supplies can be used for easy clean up.

When backyards are too small for a large summer gathering or if a backyard is not conveniently available, public parks and campgrounds are great options that are often free or very inexpensive to book in Philadelphia and her surrounding areas. Look for parks with pavilions for weather protection and large, well maintained, bathrooms facilities!

Outdoor events can always be enhanced and money can be saved by asking visitors and guests for help with bringing some of the refreshments or equipment like tents or extra tables and lounge chairs. Suggest people bring the supplies for extra lawn games and activities.

If you and your family are interested in having a backyard barbeque, you will have to decide on cooking the food yourselves or catering in the meals. While many families have their own backyard barbeque grills, if you do not, you can always rent one or two at a reasonable price for an event day. Cleaning and maintenance is often a hassle as can be the actual BBQ cooking, since it takes you away from your guests and your party’s itinerary. If you do decide to do the BBQing yourself consider catering in the accompaniments, appetizers and especially desserts or cake! This will allow you time to enjoy your party along with your guests.
